Galapagos What are inter-island flights?
Inter-island flights in the Galapagos is an air taxi type transport solution available for national, foreign and resident tourists.
There are two transport options. The first option, which are boats, can take up to 4 hours depending on the connection points. The second option is faster but more expensive. These flights are usually operated by twin-engine turboprop aircraft with a capacity of 6 to 9 passengers. These flights are considered non-scheduled flights because they do not follow a defined itinerary, but depart according to customer demand. However, these companies maintain a predefined schedule for their operations between the islands; Baltra, San Cristóbal and Isabela.

A relevant fact is that although the Galapagos Islands have three (3) airports, only two (2) of them (located on Baltra Island and San Cristobal Island) receive aircraft of up to 40 tonnes. In the case of the airport on Isabela Island, it is only suitable for small aircraft.
